The New Year presents a great time to reflect and take renewed action to make our organizations stronger, more resilient and in better alignment with our core values. The “Triple Bottom Line” – i.e. people, planet and sustainable profit – has been a great tool and framework for socially responsible businesses. But did you know that more non-profits are using this framework for their own organizations? At our February Luncheon / Panel, come learn from three non-profits on how they have adopted this framework, the benefits they've experienced, the reception from donors, and lessons learned along the process. Come share your ideas as well. Please invite your executive directors, board members, major donors, and other fundraising and program staff! Afterwards, mingle with representatives from Beneficial State Bank, our generous host and exemplary community partner, and your fellow DER colleagues.
About Our Host
Beneficial State Bank (Beneficial State) is a state-chartered, federally insured and for-profit bank and public benefit corporation. Its economic rights are majority-owned by the non-profit Beneficial State Foundation, which is in turn permanently governed in the public interest. That ownership allows the bank to prove and maintain an innovative model for banking that generates benefit for people and the planet and avoids harm to any while being financially safe and sound. Today, Beneficial State has grown to over $1 billion in assets, 250 colleagues, and 17 locations in California, Oregon, and Washington. Beneficial State is both a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) as designated by the US Treasury and a Certified B Corp.
