A job search requires you to cope with uncertainty, lack of control, and the pain of rejection. Research shows that, when unmanaged, these negative emotions not only impair cognitive functions like self-control and decision-making, but also affect your ability to focus and stay motivated -- all key elements of a successful job search. 

Join Christine Poremski Rodrigues to learn a step-by-step approach to not only secure a new job that you love, but to feel more relaxed and confident in the process. In this interactive workshop you will learn:

●    The three dimensions of a successful job search: effort, activities, and persistence
●    The difference between haphazard, exploratory and focused search strategies
●    How to use informational interviews to clarify your goals and discover opportunities
●    How to develop a focused professional profile, resume and other application materials
●    How to structure your search activities to be -- and feel -- more productive
●    Practical tips to manage your attention, emotions, and motivation

 

This workshop is limited to 12 attendees. As pre-work, participants will be asked to collect 3-5 job posts that represent their desired position and complete a self-assessment survey prior to the event.

Venue:  This social event will be held on a virtual Zoom.  Final details will be sent to all registrants the evening before the event, 01/25 by 8 PM from DER's Administrative Director.
